Date Night with Sonny Eclipse

Some nights when we want to get away from it all, you may find us at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café. This is a quick service dining spot in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park. We won’t tell you that this spot is a must eat when visiting Magic Kingdom but it is one of our favorites! I know you want to know what our favorite places to eat are so let’s unpack why we frequent Cosmic Ray’s shall we?

Cosmic Ray’s is a quick dining spot located in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom. You can order food here in the “My Disney Experience App”, and mobile order what food and when you would like to eat. The menu consists of several items but mainly it is a burger joint. Pre-pandemic they even offered a toppings bar where you could dress up your favorite burger however you liked. I personally hope this returns someday but fear it will be a victim of cuts. For the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World, they added special items to the menu.

Walt's Chili-Cheese All-Beef Foot-long Hot Dog

I present to you, pictured above, Walt’s Chilli-Cheese All-Beef Foot-Long Hot Dog. From the menu “Walt’s All-Beef Foot-long Hot Dog topped with Walt’s Favorite Chili Recipe and Cheese served with French Fries”. We weren’t sure what to think of this when we saw it was first offered but boy it surprised us. It is very tasty. The chili and cheese they add to the already juicy and tasty dog is dang good. We were already a fan of their burgers but this one is better than all of those offerings. Highly recommended.

Sonny Eclipse

The other amazing thing though about Cosmic Ray’s is Sonny Eclipse. And he is why we drop by weekly for a visit. Sonny is a Zorkie musician from Yew Nork, that is located on the planet Zork in case you didn’t know. Relying on his invisible backup singers, the “Space Angels”, he provides guests with a 20-minute loop of entertainment which includes 8 original songs inspired by our lovely planet Earth. He also spreads a little cheese in the romance department when he sings his love song “Bright Little Star” which is about his six-eyed girlfriend.

Our verdict: Between the food and entertainment, we do recommend you stop by Cosmic Rays for a song or two. Say hi to Sonny for us! If you have eaten there before, what are your thoughts on it? Check out one of his hits on our YouTube Channel and don’t forget to subscribe!
