Hello there, and welcome to our Disney Kinda Life! We have some major news coming out of EPCOT today, and it’s time to start planning your final flights. Soarin’ Around the World is closing to make way for brand new experience.
We have officially received confirmation of the closing date for Soarin’ Around the World, and it is coming up much sooner than we anticipated. You have just two months left to enjoy the current version of this beloved attraction before it takes its final bow.
In an effort to write more, which is therapeutic for me, I will do more types of articles like these. The past year has been a bit challenging for us, but we still keep living our Disney Kinda Life as we can. As always, you can follow us visually through our YouTube Channel here. Let’s go!
When Is It Soarin’ Closing and What is next?
Disney has announced that Wednesday, May 13, 2026, will be the last day for guests to experience Soarin’ Around the World. If you have a trip planned for early summer, you are going to just miss the old version, however you will see the replacement!
The closure is to make way for the brand-new, highly anticipated version: Soarin’ Across America. This new iteration is scheduled to make its debut on May 26, 2026, just in time for the Memorial Day weekend rush (Yay)!
Conclusion and Final Thoughts
If Soarin’ Around the World is a “must-do” for your family (Who doesn’t love the Taj Mahal scene with its incredible tea smell), you need to get your final flights in now through May 13. Be prepared for Genie+ return times for this classic ride to get scooped up even faster as the final day approaches.
We are excited for the change. The tech behind Soarin’ has always impressed us. I will never forget riding Soarin’ over California for the first time in 2001 at Disney’s California Adventure. Funny enough, we rode it right after Superstar Limo, which is regarded as one of the worst Disney attractions ever, but that is a story for another time (Amazing History Video on that attraction from my good friend here). Getting off of Soarin’ for the first time almost brought me to tears; it was so good. That Golden Gate Bridge scene is one for the books. What is your favorite scene of any version of Soarin’? Let us know in the comments!
