The Halloween Horror Nights 35 speculation map is here, and HHN fans are already deep into rumor season. Our friends at Horror Nights Nightmares recently released their latest speculation map, and even though it dropped a few days ago (on Friday the 13th, no less), we couldn’t resist breaking it down. From major IP rumors to potential original houses, this map gives us plenty to talk about.

Let’s walk into the fog and take a closer look at the biggest Halloween Horror Nights 35 rumors, icons, and maze possibilities. As always you can follow us visually over on YouTube by clicking here.
Stranger Things

One of the most talked‑about icons on the map is an upside‑down grandfather clock, which many fans believe points directly to Stranger Things, and more specifically season 5. Given the massive popularity of the franchise and the final live action episode aired a Stranger Things return at Halloween Horror Nights 35 feels very possible. The Season 4 house was incredibly popular, but if the property comes back, we’re hoping Universal takes it in a darker direction.
Previous Stranger Things houses leaned more all‑ages friendly, with slower scenes and fewer jump scares. This time, we’d love to see higher intensity, more monsters, and possibly a creative way to bring the Mind Flayer into a haunted house format. Something like the Queen Alien, maybe?
Hellraiser

Another standout icon is a pin cushion, fueling long‑running rumors that Pinhead from Hellraiser could finally be coming to Halloween Horror Nights. With a new Hellraiser film reportedly in development, HHN 35 could be the perfect time for Pinhead to make his debut. A Hellraiser house would bring a much darker, more brutal style of horror to the event — something many longtime fans have been craving. Can you imagine the cenobites.
Sinners

Fans have linked the lighter icon on the speculation map to Sinners, one of last year’s most successful horror films. Vampire‑themed houses have historically worked very well at HHN, and Sinners would offer a fresh take on vampiric lore. We could easily see this maze fitting into a similar atmosphere as Hatchet & Chains — grounded, gritty, and set in an older time period. If this rumor turns out to be true, it could be one of the surprise hits of Halloween Horror Nights 35.
Evil Dead Could Return to Halloween Horror Nights

A burning book icon almost certainly points to Evil Dead and the Necronomicon. Evil Dead has appeared on speculation maps multiple times in recent years, including one instance where it reportedly stayed on the map until the final moments before being pulled. Now it’s back again. The last Evil Dead house was a fan favorite, especially due to its cabin setting. Whether Universal revisits the cabin or explores a new angle of the franchise, Evil Dead feels like a strong contender — if not this year, then very soon again.
Dancing Skeletons: Lady Gaga?
One of the more confusing icons features dancing skeletons, which has led to speculation about a possible Lady Gaga‑related house, potentially referencing “Dead Dance” from the show Wednesday. That said, this is one rumor we’re not completely sold on. There aren’t many strong alternatives, but for now, this icon remains one of the biggest mysteries on the HHN 35 speculation map. Maybe Disney’s Skeleton Dance debuts at HHN, wouldn’t that be something!
Original Halloween Horror Nights 35 Maze Rumors
In addition to IPs, the map hints at several original haunted houses, which are often the heart of Halloween Horror Nights. Some of our favorite houses are orginals.
H.R. Bloodengutz
One exciting rumor involves H.R. Bloodengutz the twisted creature show host who debuted at HHN 21. Well before we lived in Florida! A hosted maze starring H.R. Bloodengutz could work similarly to Slaughter Sinema with exaggerated gore, dark humor, and over‑the‑top scenes. This would be a major win for longtime HHN fans if this comes true.
Makeup Gone Wrong

Another icon appears to hint at a makeup‑themed horror concept. While there hasn’t been much discussion around it, our theory ties it to the fictional company behind BUGS: Eaten Alive, BzzzCon . If that company expanded into cosmetics — and things went horribly wrong — it could result in deformed victims, chemical accidents, and grotesque transformations. It’s a concept that fits perfectly within HHN’s original horror style.
Cowboys vs. Aliens Original Maze?
One interesting icon on the map shows an alien wearing a cowboy hat, and this one seems fairly straightforward. No, we don’t think this is related to the movie Cowboys vs Aliens from years ago. Instead, it appears to hint at a brand‑new original concept: Cowboy Aliens, HHN‑style. Simple, weird, and potentially very fun.
Jack the Clown vs. Dr. Oddfellow

Saving the best for last it wouldn’t be Halloween Horror Nights 35 without Jack the Clown. A jack‑in‑the‑box icon has sparked rumors of a Jack vs. Dr. Oddfellow haunted house. Jack typically returns every five years, and pairing him against Dr. Oddfellow — who debuted recently — feels like the perfect anniversary showdown. This would easily serve as a headlining original maze and a major draw for HHN veterans.
Final Thoughts on the HHN 35 Speculation Map

The Halloween Horror Nights 35 speculation map gives us a strong mix of realistic IP rumors and creative original concepts. Rumors like Pinhead, Jack’s return, and Stranger Things feel especially plausible, while others remain fun mysteries for speculation season. And honestly that’s half the fun of the months leading up to the event.
