Holy Bantha, Disney has announced major changes to Star Wars Galaxies Edge. All we can say is FINALLY! Back in 2015, when “Star Wars Land” was announced, every Star Wars theme park fan had visions of how amazing this land would be, celebrating the franchise we have all grown to love. We now had a place to officially hold Star Wars weekends, a spot for Darth Vader to roam and come face to face with Darth Maul, Kylo Ren, or whoever. All of this was crushed faster than a Vader chokehold when we learned the land would be locked to one specific time period. Not just any time period, but specifically between episodes 8 & 9. We now have a pathway to start fixing this mistake and we couldn’t be more excited! Grab your blue milk and get ready for all of the details. As always, you can catch us on our YouTube channel. I will paste a couple of our favorite Star Wars VLOGS below!

As announced, Disneyland is set to transform Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Black Spire Outpost starting April 29, 2026. The land’s timeline is expanding to include the era of the original Star Wars trilogy, so visitors can expect to encounter legendary characters like Darth Vader, Han Solo, Leia Organa, and Luke Skywalker alongside favorites such as Rey, Chewbacca, and R2-D2 (Where is 3-PO).
Below is a summary of what is coming. There is some good stuff here for sure but I want more, I know baby steps.
What’s New For Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Disneyland in 2026

- Classic Characters
- Disney mentions that these characters will be appearing: Han, Leia, Luke, Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, and more.
- Their outfits will reflect the Batuu feel, which is excellent. We like that they want the land to be cohesive.
- Expanded Timeline
- The story now spans from Return of the Jedi to The Mandalorian, letting fans experience Batuu in a whole new way. While we still would like all Star Wars to be included, we are happy they at least found a way to allow Darth Vader into a proper Star Wars area where he belongs.
- Fresh Attractions & Missions
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run gets a new mission in May 2026, featuring the Mandalorian and Grogu
- While the Falcon update isn’t new news, we hope this leads to a third attraction, which is needed.
- Shop Updates
- First Order Cargo becomes Black Spire Surplus, a military supply shop with gear from both the Empire and the Rebels. Other shops like Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities and Droid Depot will also get era-appropriate updates.
- Nothing too exciting here but we can all agree that First Order store needed to go.
- Immersive Soundtrack:
- John Williams’ classic Star Wars themes will fill the air, making the experience even more cinematic.
- Finally, we will hear John Williams iconic Star Wars music in the Star Wars land! Enough said
Wish List for Future Enhancements to Batuu

Here are items I would love to see added to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and in no particular order.
- Walt Disney World to get the same treatment as Disneyland
- This is an obvious one, but since we live in Orlando, we would like Darth Vader in Batuu here as well, along with the rest of the additions.
- Include all Star Wars timelines into Batuu
- We want more Star Wars. Darth Maul, Kylo Ren, and Darth Vader together playing Sabacc, let’s go!
- Jedi Academy returns
- Let’s build a stage in Batuu and start up the Jedi Academy shows again. They really were wonderful
- Star Wars Weekends Return
- We miss these weekends so much and what a perfect seasonal event for Batuu
- Sit Down Restaurant
- Rumored to have been cut from the beginning, let’s build the sit-down restaurant with a show. The Starcruiser had a dinner show, and it was phenomenal. Let’s get Gaya back into the mix.
- Third Star Wars Attraction for Batuu
- Let’s build a third attraction.
- My thought is a cool peoplemover like attraction would be amazing throughout the land to add some more movement to the otherwise dead atmosphere of Batuu.
- Honorable mention for a family style coaster
- Let’s build a third attraction.
These suggestions, according to me, would make Star Wars land a not-miss area in both Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. What are your thoughts?
Final Conclusion on the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Batuu Updates

Ok, here comes the part where I celebrate this move. We love Star Wars, all of it, not just Episodes 7-9, and finally, we have the starting phase of celebrating the whole franchise inside a Disney Park, the way it should be. I have found memories of Star Wars weekends here in Disney World and want that level of love for the franchise to return to the parks. Speaking of which, this is slated to go only to Disneyland for now, but I assume it will come to Batuu East early next year. They will try it out in Disneyland and then move it here hopefully

With the exciting changes coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, fans can finally look forward to a more representation of the beloved franchise. The addition of classic characters and the expansion of the timeline not only pays tribute to the legacy of Star Wars but also enhances the immersive experience that Disney is known for.

As we anticipate new attractions and updates, we hope ,these enhancements will breathe new life into Batuu. So, whether you’re a lifelong fan or a newcomer to the galaxy far, far away, there has never been a more thrilling time to explore Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in 2026, of course at Disneyland for now!!
