One Day Itinerary for Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe

It's Alive! It's Alive!
It’s Alive! It’s Alive!

Epic Universe is a brand-new theme park officially opening on May 22nd. We are here to help you plan your day now that we have experienced the park several times. This strategy worked for us twice and does involve some luck with the Harry Potter Virtual Queue. This also assumes you have early entry. We will need to post a strategy for a visit without staying on property in the future. At the bottom is a TL: DR list of the attractions and the order in which we did them. Also, subscribe to our YouTube Channel to follow along with our visual storytelling. Keep in mind this worked for us a couple of times and you may need to pivot, but we wanted to help you get in the zone with thought process on Epic’s attractions

Early Morning: Epic Universe Arrival

Prioritize Mine Kart Madness during early entry
Prioritize Mine Kart Madness during early entry
  • They are letting Universal Orlando Resort guests in an hour before the official opening. When this happens, Stardust Racers and Super Nintendo World are open. We suggest that you get the Nintendo World attractions done during this time. We noticed on both mornings that you can get Mine Kart Madness and Bowser’s Challenge completed before eleven. We would skip Yoshi in the morning and come back for it when you want to explore Super Nintendo World later in the day. Getting in an hour early means you need to be parked and walking towards the gate 90 minutes before park opening.

Late Morning: Virtual Queue for the Harry Potter Ride

  • As park opening approaches you are going to want to prioritize getting a virtual queue for Harry Potter and we have an article on how to get that here.
  • While dealing with the virtual queue for Harry Potter you should be heading to your next portal as the park opens and we suggest Dark Universe as your second destination. Get in Line for Monsters Unchained, which should be relatively short at this time
  • When you exit Monsters check the line for Curse of the Wolfman, We wouldn’t get in this line if it is over 30 minutes this early in the day. We noticed it sort of dies off so far during the AP previews we have been to.

Lunch

Isle of Berk
Isle of Berk
  • Around this time you may be getting hungry, and we suggest heading over to Isle of Berk to grab food from the Spit Fyre Grill, be sure to watch your return time for Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry. If your time is relatively close to when you are done with Monsters you can detour over to WWoHP and eat there. You can flip flop these next steps based on your luck with Harry Potter
  • In Isle of Berk you will want to prioritize the Untrainable dragon show. Also, of note if you want to do the dragon meet & Greet it will take around an hour of your time so plan accordingly if it is important to you.
  • Now onto the rides in Isle of Berk, If you want to get soaked go on Fire Drill and use the cute dryers outside of the attraction to dry off.
  • Head over to Dragon Racers and Hicup’s Wing Gliders and get in line for the shorter one and then do the other one after that.

    Later Afternoon

Hopefully, by this time, you have ridden Harry Potter already, but if you haven’t and you are waiting around for your callback time, you can start to knock out the rest of your attractions. Checking your app at this point, you have Constellation Carousel, Yoshi’s Adventure, Stardust Racers, and Curse of the Wolfman left, and Le Cirque Arcanus in WWoHP. You can do these in whatever order they make sense for us it was Yoshi, Carousel, Stardust Racers, and Le Cirque Arcanus

    • Head back into Super Nintendo World to explore and ride Yoshi’s Adventure if you haven’t already
    • Hits some brick’s and ?s while you are there
    • Go on Constellation Carousel which hasn’t been carrying a long wait during the previews
    • Go to Star Dust Racers or Curse of the Wolfman based on their waits (shorter wait first)
    • Grab some Dinner we highly recommend Moon Pizza in Celestial park
    • Finish off your day with La Cirque Arcanus
Pizza Lunare, Ube Pizza from Moon Pizza

Don't get Cranky if you miss out on an attraction!

There you have it, a one-day itinerary. A lot of how your day will go depends on the virtual queue currently being used for Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry. Depending on what time you pull, you may need to move things around. The main point here is that we are trying to steer you away from a couple of time syncs. Most notably Yoshi, and Wolfman as we have seen those queues drop as the day goes on. Also, you can utilize single rider lines and we list those here. Keep an eye out on our YouTube channel for our VLOGs on Epic Universe. Also, let us know your thoughts on this itinerary. Did it work for you?
