Citricos Grand Floridian
Citricos Grand Floridian

Recently we finally made it over to Citricos. Nestled in the elegant Grand Floridian, Citricos offers a dining experience that is truly exceptional. From the moment you step inside, the sophisticated ambiance sets the tone for an unforgettable evening. The warm lighting and refined decor exude a sense of luxury that perfectly complements the delicious cuisine. Citricos is located right next to Victoria & Albert’s, and offers a lower priced upscale dining adventure. As always you can follow our visual storytelling over on YouTube here!

Citricos Food & Beverages

The menu celebrates the vibrant flavors of the Mediterranean, with a keen focus on seasonal ingredients. Each dish is expertly crafted, showcasing the talents of the culinary team. The standout options include the mouthwatering seafood dishes, which are always fresh and perfectly prepared. The presentation is equally impressive, turning each plate into a work of art. We dined here March of 2025, keep in mind the menu can change.

Beverages

From left to right, on the drinks, we tried out a couple of the cocktails & mocktails. The Old Fashioned Orange Soda Float was an orange soda dream, enough there that you don’t even miss the bourbon! This brings us to the 1806 old-fashioned, as a bourbon snob. I was drawn to it for using Whistle Pig 10 years ago, but the old-fashioned itself was good, not memorable. The purple penguin mocktail was our favorite of these three we tried. A lot of nice tropical flavors coming together to make this mocktail refreshing.

Appetizers

Bread Service with Guava Butter
Bread Service with Guava Butter

Typically we won’t talk about bread service, but how about the guava butter from Citricos! The actual bread here, ciabatta & multigrain are decent but the guava butter is the star for us.

Seasonal Salad
Seasonal Salad

This unique salad was truly delicious. The strawberries worked rather well with the bacon vinaigrette and the goat cheese brought it all together.

Sweet Corn Bisque
Sweet Corn Bisque

This bisque was an interesting choice for us. The Black truffle oil was very subtle here and the popcorn didn’t do much for us. Overall, this tasted like liquid corn as it should, but didn’t blow us away.

Yuzu-Soy Roasted Duck Breast
Yuzu-Soy Roasted Duck Breast

This is a tale of two items on the same dish. The duck breast was good, but the actual duck dumplings were very tasty. We would have gladly traded the breast for a whole dish of the dumplings!

Main Dishes Citricos

Domestic Fish
Domestic Fish

Our favorite dish of the night was this one. The fish was buttery and rich, almost borderline lobster tasting. The risotto played nicely with it as well with just a tiny bit of chorizo in there.

Malbec Guava-Barbecued Short Ribs

While the short rib was very tender and tasty the grits that came with it were top notch! Overall this dish is well balanced and very good. We highly recommend it if you like pork in general.

Coriander-Spiced Cobia
Coriander-Spiced Cobia

This fish dish was tasty, but we nod to the domestic fish dish above if you want something from the sea. Here, the Cobia had a more subtle butter taste than we would have liked. The hearts of palm did have a unique taste though that really worked well here.

Desserts Citricos

Profiterole Trio
Profiterole Trio

This dessert included a vanilla custard, dulce de leche, seasonal cream, and a passion fruit sorbet. The passion fruit sorbet was our favorite part, and then the dulce de leche.

Macchiato
Macchiato

This wonderful chocolaty delight hit just right. It was rich, as most chocolate desserts tend to be, and it worked just right. The Chile-chocolate pour over (not pictured, and not very spicy) Was very good when added to this dish.

Praline Coconut Tart
Praline Coconut Tart

This coconut dessert packs a strong flavor. You can taste the vanilla, but it lacks praline. We suggest the trio!
