New Villains show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios was not on our bingo card for today. This one came out of nowhere, but an exhilarating new show was just announced for Disney’s Hollywood Studios! It completely makes sense to retire the attraction it is replacing and bring in fresh energy. In our National Ice Cream Day VLOG, which you can find here, we take you on an exciting peek of Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy which is now on borrowed time as it is closing October 7th!

From Disney, “Deep in the shadows of Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, something delightfully wicked is about to take the stage. It’s an all-new live production starring your favorite Disney Villains – debuting summer 2025!

The creative minds at Disney Live Entertainment will transform Sunset Showcase into the mysterious, reflective realm of the Magic Mirror. The show will feature appearances by dozens of the most infamous evildoers, with fiendish foes Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook and Maleficent each breaking through the glass to take the stage in live production numbers.

Final Thoughts and Conclusions on the New Villains Show

There are a couple of things at play here we feel. First off with the D23 announcement of Cars going into Magic Kingdom you not only don’t need Cars in DHS any longer you also have an amazing Lightning McQueen animatronic you can repurpose for the greater good of the new attraction. Also, let’s face it the Lightning McQueen racing academy isn’t exactly a huge draw to that corner of DHS. This Villains show will get people in that section of the park for sure and will give us a good taste of Villains in a Disney park while waiting on the Magic Kingdom land to be built.
