The anticipation is building up again—it’s the season for guessing what thrills and chills Halloween Horror Nights will bring! Embracing the spirit of the occasion, this blog agrees that it’s never too soon to get into the Halloween mood. Horror Night Nightmares has unveiled the first speculation map of the year. In this post, we’ll dive into what Halloween Horror Nights entails and share our insights on the potential labyrinth of mazes for the HHN 33. Their speculation maps are just that speculation, but if you have followed them for the past couple of years, they are close on some of these and even 100% correct on others, so it is fun to speculate along with them.
Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) is a hard-ticket event held at Universal Studios on both coasts. This is one of our favorite events of the year and also one we have visited religiously yearly. This post will explore the speculation of which mazes will be included for the event this year. None of this is official and could turn out to be way off up but enjoy the ride.
First off, what type of event is Halloween Horror Nights you ask? It is an event aimed at teens and up. I wouldn’t suggest young ones to visit this event as the crowd can be a bit rough. There is plenty of alcohol being served and also graphic scenes from horror movies being played out in the park. The event happens on weekends during September and October which is the Halloween season.
If you plan on going, we would suggest you try to avoid weekends. Fridays and Saturdays create massive lines for the mazes. If you decide to go on a weekend and only have one night, we suggest grabbing an Express Pass, which allows you to skip the regular line once per maze. We aren’t saying you can’t get all the mazes done without the Express Pass, but it helps on the weekends. If you don’t grab the Express Pass, plan on getting to Halloween Horror Nights as early as possible to hit all the mazes. My gripe with that is that the sun is still out and can ruin the creepy element.
Halloween Horror Nights 33 Speculation Mazes
Since this speculation map has symbols, we will guess the mazes based on the locations of the maps. For example, “Sprung 3,” which we believe is based on the franchise “A Quiet Place.” This makes a lot of sense based on the symbol referencing no sound and also the fact that another movie is coming out for that franchise this summer. It all lines up, and we are confident that this one is true!
For the next guess, we will tackle location SS23B. At first, we were confused about why a Cadillac symbol was used for a maze, and then it hit us. The Ecto-1 is a Cadillac model ambulance. Thus, our guess is Ghostbusters! This makes a lot of sense with a new movie coming out and the 40th anniversary of the first movie.
After those two we are really going to be guessing. Below we rip through some fun thoughts with not much evidence to back them up. This is speculation and rumors after all.
SS23A – Map of South America our guess, Creature From the Black Lagoon
SS22 – Vampire Skull looking thing, Nosferatu. There is a movie coming out this year so maybe.
SS24A – Split Face Icon. This looks like a big headed Alien of some sort. We really have no idea.
SS24B – Lollipop Symbol. A maze based off the scare zone from HHN 31 Mayor Sweets Sweet Revenge
F & F – No Symbol. Our guess is something from Blumhouse
Sprung 2 – No Symbol. This will be an original maze our wish would be Jack vs Oddfellow
Sprung 1 – Minotaur. A maze with Minotaur’s maybe.
Sprung 4 – Moon with Stars. Nightmare on Elm Street since this year is it’s 40th anniversary.
Final Thoughts on Halloween Horror Nights Speculation Map
