Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Kick off your gingerbread house tour at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Here, you’ll find a life-sized gingerbread house. Made from over 10,000 pieces of gingerbread, this impressive structure stands at an impressive 16 feet tall. Step inside and be amazed by the mouthwatering array of holiday treats available for purchase.
As expected, this resort attracted a large crowd of eager visitors waiting in line for the delicious treats. However, we decided to forgo the treats line and explore the offerings of the other resorts instead. One of the highlights that caught our attention was the remarkable Gingerbread house and beautifully decorated tree located in the central area of the Grand Floridian resort. It truly is a sight to behold!
Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Make sure to visit the gingerbread display at Disney’s Contemporary Resort near the monorail entrance. Mary Blair inspires this year’s gingerbread creation and celebrates the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company. Designed by talented Walt Disney Imagineers, the display is an impressive 17 feet tall and made with 612 pounds of sugar, 1012 pounds of flour, 112 pounds of gingerbread spice, and over 4000 castle gingerbread bricks. Remember to look for the 12 hidden five-legged goats and enjoy the sprinklings of magical pixie dust! It’s truly a sight to behold.
We also took this opportunity to grab a Linzer cookie that looked, and tasted amazing! The Linzer cookie was soft and fresh tasting, and even topped with a chocolate bow!
Disney’s Boardwalk Inn
Next up we head over to Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, where you’ll discover a charming gingerbread cottage nestled on the boardwalk. This creation is a miniature version of some of your favorite spots found along the Boardwalk itself, including the Boardwalk Deli, which is home to none other than the Boardwalk Inn Bakery team led by Pastry Chef Alex Vacher.
We adore the atmosphere of the boardwalk area throughout the year, and during the holiday season, it becomes even more delightful with the joyful melodies of Christmas songs filling the air.
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
The latest addition to the collection can be found at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Pastry Chef de Cuisine Michael Craig has ingeniously crafted this unique creation, taking inspiration from the blueprints of the nearby lighthouse along Crescent Lake. During our visit, we observed no treats available for sale, and unfortunately, the list of ingredients was missing. Nevertheless, this delightful addition to the gingerbread lineup is certainly a sight to behold.
Disney’s Beach Club Resort
As you make your way to Disney’s Beach Club Resort, prepare to be awestruck by their spectacular carousel-inspired gingerbread display. Adorned with colorful horses and a spinning carousel top, this enchanting gingerbread creation will transport you back to your childhood.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, prepare to be captivated by the charm of the giraffes and zebras. From November 22nd to December 31st, head to the Jambo House lobby to witness the delightful creations by Pastry Chef Lexy Ross at the Animal Kingdom Lodge bakery. The tradition continues with the astonishing Life-Size Baby Gingerbread Giraffe, affectionately named Ginger, and her companion, the adorable Baby Zebra named Debra. Crafted using a delightful combination of gingerbread, sugar dough, and modeling chocolate, these edible wonders are a sight. Standing at an impressive height of nearly 7 feet, Ginger the Ginger-affe will leave a lasting impression.
Honorable Mentions
Next up is the Wilderness lodge with a gigantic tree in the lobby that is well worth your visit. Also, they have a lot of treats to buy, and overall, the vibe of this resort is one of our favorites!
Over at the Polynesian Resort, the holiday decorations are nice and cozy. We wonder what a gingerbread house would look like here. Come on, Disney, let’s get on that!
