One of our most favorite restaurants in all of Disney World is located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios (DHS). Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant. This incredibly themed restaurant is worth the effort on your part to score an advance dining reservation (ADR) to.
Step back into the 1950s version of Hollywood where you get to sit in a parked car at the drive-in and watch movies! All this while you get to eat good American food! Did someone say cheeseburgers with a side of the cult classic “The Amazing Colossal Man”? No matter what you think of the food, the atmosphere here is incredible, and you will forget you are in Central Florida for a bit while watching amazing movie clips from the 50s!
Before we get to the food, be mindful that you will need to put some work in to score the ADR for this place. It is almost always sold out, but fear not, spots do open up if you are vigilant enough to watch it daily. Also remember ADRs can be made 60 days out so if you know when you will be at DHS start trying to find the elusive ADR!
Don’t forget to mention to them if you are celebrating something you may get a surprise on your vehicle!
Sci-Fi Drive in Food
I love the burgers, but Emma loves the Pan-Seared Chicken Pasta. This dish reminds us of the Ralph Brennan’s Jazz kitchen in Anaheim’s Downtown Disney. This dish has “Pappardelle Pasta tossed in a Lemon-Butter Sauce with Rainbow Tomatoes, Onions, and Spinach, served with a Toasted Garlic Crostini” It is really good.
Their burgers are huge and juicy, and let’s dig in starting with the Classic American Burger. From the menu “Our Signature-blend of Beef with House-made Burger Sauce, Applewood-smoked Bacon, American Cheese, Shredded Lettuce, and Marinated Heirloom Tomato served on a Brioche Bun.” It’s a classic, but very good! As you can see they do not cheap out on the portion size here. Also if you go medium rare it will actually be super juicy!
Next up on the list is the Drive-in BBQ Burger which has “Our Signature-blend of Beef and House-made Seasoning served on a Brioche Bun topped with9-hour Smoked Pork, Bourbon-Bacon Jam, Cheddar, Lettuce, and Barbecue Sauce”. This burger is amazing, and so juicy, but be warned it is big and you will feel it later when you got on Tower of Terror!
Conclusion on Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater
While we have eaten here a handful of times, we have yet to scratch the surface on the multiple options that they offer. We will continue to update this review as we go back, but like mentioned above we highly recommend this spot, and are sure you will too! Have you eaten here, if so what did you think?
