Delightful Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! Review 2022!

We have attended a couple of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and this article will share our thoughts on this separate ticketed event. You also can find more information on the event itself in our Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party returns article. The first night of this event on November 8th was quite the experience as Tropical Storm Nicole was approaching the area. This brought a ton of rain to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party, but alas the show must go on, and for the most part it did!

With our ponchos and umbrellas in tow we arrived to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) a little later than usual, but still before the first showing of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade which was delayed due to weather. Essentially this went on about 30 minutes later as the weather gave us 2 hours of perfection until it rained again. Remember if you buy a ticket to MVMCP, you can enter the Magic Kingdom at 4pm, and you will be treated to very minimal crowds. Also one thing we will mention as of today, tickets are almost all sold out already, so if you are on the fence about a purchase you may want to grab them before they do sell out.

As we watched the performance of the parade we always feel a bit let down as the Halloween parade, Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade is so amazing. Don’t get me wrong, we love Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, but we really miss those shovel guys, and the Boo to You song from Halloween!

After the parade we made our way up to the hub to watch Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks. Now everything we feel about the Halloween Parade versus Christmas is reversed for the fireworks! We absolutely love this fireworks show! I wish somehow holidays could collide maybe we could get a party with Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, and Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks together hosted by the Sanderson sisters! I can dream right? Below is the sort of view to expect if you roll up to a fireworks show last minute. Not bad if you don’t mind the lightpost!

The rest of the night was spent getting free cookies, and a couple of photo ops. Unlike last year, there are 6 different cookies you can score with our favorite being the frosted gingerbread cookie from Pinocchio Village Haus. The weather really cut our party short, but we still managed to have fun. The next section will talk about our second party we went to a week later, and how much different the vibe was.

One of the benefits of living close to the magic is the ability to pop over to the resort at will. The weather for our second party was amazing. This is the time of year in Central Florida that make everyone jealous. We got to the park around 8pm EST which of course I would not recommend if you aren’t a frequent visitor. Definitely enter the park as close to 4pm as you can. The benefit of buying a ticket to MVMCP is you can enter early and go on attractions that you should not do during the party, and with minimal waits!

Our agenda was to catch the parade and of course the fireworks, and we accomplished both of those things. Because we have seen Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, we opted to strategically watch it from the side of the castle. This is because as soon as the fireworks end, you can get on the Seven Dwarfs Mine coaster as a walk on. We only recommend this type of strategy though if you are a frequent visitor. If you want a good fireworks viewing spot you will want to find that at least 30 minutes prior to it starting if not even a bit earlier.

After we rode the Dwarfs coaster we ran around and grab some of the free cookies and hot chocolate they hand out. This isn’t something we prioritize, but when there are no lines at them it doesn’t hurt to run in and grab them. We also took a 0 wait opportunity to check out Tomorrowland Speedway which has festive holiday lights and decorations around the track. We also like riding this attraction when TRON is lit up in the background which you will see in our video below. Check it out, it is a bit loud, but we left the sound in for your enjoyment!

Next up was to find a spot for the 11:55pm showing of Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration. This show is a can’t miss, and offer 4 different show times. If you can muscle it out until midnight it is the easiest show to grab a good spot for. You will get a bunch of characters for this show and it really is festive. We do still prefer the Sanderson Sister Halloween stage show over this one, but they are close! We captured the Feliz Navidad portion of the show with the Three Caballeros for your enjoyment!

Final Thoughts and Tips and Tricks

In closing we wanted to share some tips and thoughts on the event. If you have a chance to check out these parties we highly suggest it. They are so much fun, and can also allow you to really enjoy the atmosphere of the Magic Kingdom at a slower pace. The character offerings are also a lot more diverse during these parties which is awesome as well. We are disappointed that the Seven Dwarfs are not out to greet guests. We feel this is a huge let down, and hope they find a way to get them back this season.

Tips and Tricks

  • Arrive as close to 4pm as possible. Your ticket allows you entry to the Magic Kingdom at 4pm. Use that extra time before the party to go on attractions, and eat.
  • Make a list of what is important to you, is it both viewings of the parades? Perhaps you want characters. You will want to timebox those options in order to get them done
  • Find a good spot for Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks. We suggest somewhere with a view of the front of the castle and start looking for that spot 60 minute to 30 mins before the show starts.
  • If you are going to chase down photos with characters, definitely make a list of which. Winnie the Pooh and Friends, Jack and Sally, and Santa Clause have the longest lines. I wouldn’t try to wait for all three as it will eat up a lot of your time. Personally I would skip Santa Claus as you can find him at other spots in the world.
  • Have Fun!
