Walt Disney World has unveiled the Lightning Lane Premier Pass, the latest and priciest line-skipping service is coming soon to the most magical place on Earth. This exciting addition launches alongside recent changes at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. Recently, Disney unveiled new Lightning Lane programs, which you can read about here. This new option adds a pricey but nice new program. The standout feature of the new Lightning Lane Premier Pass? It offers unparalleled convenience. Guests will enjoy one entry to every Lightning Lane throughout the park, usable at any time without the need to book an arrival slot in advance. With its ease of use, the Premier Pass aligns perfectly with what many visitors have been looking for. For anyone who goes to Universal this is basically Disney’s version of Express pass.
Some of the added perks of Lightning Lane Premier Pass include:
- All attractions from Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass.
- Guests can ride the attractions that they want–when they want.
- Lightning Lane Premier Pass will include PhotoPass photo and video downloads.
Walt Disney World is set to pilot the Lightning Lane Premier Pass starting October 30, 2024.
Initially, the Lightning Lane Premier Pass will be available for purchase exclusively by guests at Deluxe Resorts or Deluxe Villa Resorts (Disney Vacation Club Resorts). Guests can buy the Lightning Lane Premier Pass up to seven days prior to their stay.
The Lightning Lane Premier Pass provides one-time access to each available Lightning Lane entrance at a single theme park for the day. Notably, there is no Park Hopper option with the Lightning Lane Premier Pass at Walt Disney World.
Prices for the Lightning Lane Premier Pass will vary based on the date and theme park. At launch, prices will range from $129 to $449 per person, plus tax, with the highest fees occurring on select peak travel days. Here are the pricing ranges for each park:
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom: $129 to $199 per person, plus tax
- EPCOT: $169 to $249 per person, plus tax
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios: $269 to $349 per person, plus tax
- Magic Kingdom: $329 to $449 per person, plus tax
Walt Disney World’s official site states that the Lightning Lane Premier Pass will be released in “very limited quantities.” This raises the question: how limited is that? Our guess is at first they won’t go overboard to test this out. This will prove it is successful and then they can continue with the program.
Final Thoughts on Lightning Premiere Pass
Will it sell out daily, increasing exclusivity for Deluxe Resort and DVC Villa guests? What impact will this have on availability for Multi-Pass and Single Pass users? Will more capacity be shifted from standby lines to Lightning Lanes? These are questions we will all wait and see on.
This new service will be pretty popular. Most people will openly balk at the price but still buy this service as it will be a huge time saver. One huge advantage is you do not need to mess with the app and booking times. That is the most significant advantage, and Disney ensures you pay for this. Please let me know what your thoughts are. Will you be tempted to try this out?
