EPCOT, one of the renowned theme parks within Disney World in Orlando, Florida, embraces a rare Halloween spirit with a fun and festive activity known as Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit. This seasonal scavenger hunt offers a delightful experience for families and Disney enthusiasts of all ages. Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit is an engaging scavenger hunt that takes place during the Halloween season at EPCOT. This event runs from September 27th until November 1st. Participants must purchase a map and are tasked with locating various themed pumpkins hidden throughout the World Discovery, Nature, and Celebration areas of EPCOT with just a couple of them stretching into the front portion of World Showcase. The pumpkins are decorated, each featuring a different Disney character or theme.
To purchase a map, visit any shop where merchandise is sold. The map costs $9.99; you can even use your Annual Pass for a slight discount. Once completed, return the map with all the stickers to receive a reward.
The Locations
This next section is a full list of spoilers and each location of Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit!
Creations
Inside the Creations store, you can locate the Mickey-themed pumpkin in the home section up on a shelf.
Connections Cafe
This one can be a bit difficult to find. In our case we happen to pick the right entrance to find it in connections cafe on the Starbucks side on top of one of their ovens.
Guardians of the Galaxy Area
For this one you can find the Groot inspired pumpkin on a pathway that goes from the Guardians are to Mission Space inside the plants.
Test Track Area
We aren’t sure this really is in the Test Track area, but it is more in a section between Mission Space and Test Track. Test Track is under refurbishment and you can find this Pluto themed Pumpkin in a little bench alcove near it.
Green Landing Family Play Zone
This was by far our hardest one to find. It isn’t in the play zone, but more in the area of the Flavors from Fire Market Place and facing the middle of the park.
The Odyssey Pavilion
Lucky for us this Pluto theme pumpkin was staring us in the face as we approached the building from the Test Track area.
Disney Traders
Olaf is in a cleverly themed spot and easy to find behind a set of registers!
Port of Entry
Like Olaf this Daisy theme pumpkin is in a corner of the store and high up for all to see!
Swirled Showcase
Chip and Dale can be spotted on top of Swirled Showcase.
Journey to Imagination Pavilion
Our favorite themed pumpkin Figment is hiding on top of his attraction as you approach the entrance.
The Land Pavilion
The Joy pumpkin is hiding right behind the The Land sign.
The Seas With Nemo and Friends
This Dory pumpkin is off and to the left above the exit of the Seas.
Tips for Enjoying Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit
- Start Early: EPCOT can get crowded, especially during the afternoon and evening. Starting your hunt early in the day can make for a more leisurely experience.
- Take Your Time: This scavenger hunt is meant to be fun, so take your time enjoying the decorations and ambiance of each pavilion.
- Stay Hydrated: Florida’s weather can be unpredictable. Make sure to stay hydrated and take breaks as needed.
- Engage with Cast Members: Cast members are often a wealth of knowledge and can provide hints or fun facts about the scavenger hunt and the decorated pumpkins.
