Halloween Horror Nights 33 in Orlando: A Night of Pure Terror Awaits

Prepare yourself for a spine-chilling experience like never before! Halloween Horror Nights 33 in Orlando promises to be the most terrifying event of the year. As the sun sets and darkness takes over, Universal Studios transforms into a nightmarish world where fear reigns supreme. In this section we will make our list of the mazes in the order we are excited for. As always we can’t recommend HHNightmares on Twitter/X. They do great work all year long. Check out their map below.

What type of event is Halloween Horror Nights (HHN) you ask? It is an event aimed at teens and up. I wouldn’t suggest young ones to visit this event as the crowd can be a bit rough. There is plenty of alcohol being served and graphic scenes from horror movies being played out in the park. The event happens on select evenings during August, September, October, and even November!

Halloween Horror Nights 2024 Dates

Here are the dates for Halloween Horror Nights 2024 (HHN 33) at Universal Studios Florida:

  • Aug 29 (Preview Event) 30-31
  • Sept. 1, 4–8, 11–15, 18–22, 25–29
  • Oct. 2–6, 9–13, 16–20, 23–27, 30-31
  • Nov. 1–3

This year, the event features an array of meticulously designed haunted houses, each more horrifying than the last. From twisted tales of demented clowns to eerie encounters with vengeful spirits, every turn promises to keep your heart racing. The below list is final and we will dig into some of our thoughts on the mazes.

Before HHN Ranking list

Something we do yearly is rank the houses before the season, and then rank them after the season is over. From most excited to least here they are.

  • Major Sweets Candy Factory
  • Slaughter Sinema 2
  • A Quiet Place
  • Ghostbusters Frozen Empire
  • The Museum: Deadly Exhibits
  • Goblin’s Feast
  • Insidious Into the Further
  • Universal Monsters Eternal Bloodlines
  • Triplets of Terror
  • Monstrous The Monsters of Latin America

What do these rankings mean, though? Not much, honestly, as we have seen in the past there will be a maze that blows us away and other mazes that really let us down. Last year we really enjoyed the way all of the scare zones were connected to each other through Dr Oddfellow. Universal went away with that idea and the scare zones this year all stand on their own. What do you think about all of this? Will we see you in the fog? Let us know in the comments!

We choose Major Sweets as our most anticipated original maze because we really enjoyed the scare zone they had for major sweets. When we walked through that area a couple of years ago we kept saying we could see a maze where we go into the candy factory and no we are getting our chance. We are hoping for a lot of bright colors in this maze and cool smells! We imagine a whimsical start to the maze that turns sour as you progress through it

I don’t want to ignore the potential that is Slaughter Sinema 2 though. Back in 2018, Slaughter Sinema was a maze and very popular. The path took you through eight b-type horror movies with the climax being a cheesy film named, “Attack of the Swamp Yeti!” The Yeti’s were very popular last year, so here is hoping that Slaughter Sinema 2 can capture the magic of the first one!

For our most anticipated intellectual property (IP) we cannot wait to see what they do with “A Quiet Place” as the monsters look like a Demogorgon which lends itself into making some freaky looking animatronics. We have a feeling that this maze will be anything but quiet.

Food & Entertainment at HHN 33

Let’s talk about the food announcements which are always fun to sink your teeth into. We have seen a couple of items leak online that are part of the Ghostbusters themed food. There is a Stay Puft (pictured below from Universal’s site) Marshmallow man smores treat that we can’t wait to try! Watch our socials and YouTube Channel for more yummy food goodness as we set out to try as many of these as possible.

On the Entertainment front Finally Nightmare fuel is back as the lone show for HHN 33, and we always mark this as a can’t miss show. They do such a great show. We do hope the have some sort of roaming horde like the M3GANs from last year.
