Spoiler alert! You don’t even need to read the rest of this article to know that Yak & Yeti is our favorite restaurant in Walt Disney World! I know it is a bold statement to put out there, but Yak & Yet checks a lot of boxes for us. Favorites can be debated until you rope drop Magic Kingdom, with so many options at the resort, such as some of our other favorites you have read about, Sci-Fi Dine-in Theater restaurant, or Sanaaa, to name a couple.
Now that you are curious, let’s delve into the reasons for our frequent visits to Yak & Yeti. Nestled in Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s Asia section, this restaurant stands out with its exceptional decor that seamlessly blends with its environment. Whenever the discussion of our preferred park at Walt Disney World arises, we invariably praise the immersive theming of DAK as the most impressive among the four parks. Each area is meticulously designed to transport you to the specific continents or realms it embodies, except DinoLand USA, which, according to rumors, may soon transform.
Yak & Yeti The Food
The decor is nice, but how’s the food, you ask? After all, this is a sit-in restaurant in a theme park. While the menu is heavily Asian-themed, there are burgers, steak, and chicken dishes to keep everyone happy! We often get the same order every time we go because why ruin a good thing? When we dine with friends, we usually tempt them to try new dishes so that we can taste them that way, sneaky, right? As seen above, we ate here after we completed the Dopey Challenge!
Let’s start with our favorite appetizer, Bang Bang Calamari. This was part of their not-so-secret menu, often touted as a chef’s special. Each time we visited, we were always nervous that it might disappear from the menu but they finally made it permanent. This calamari is spiced just right where you get a great flavor that isn’t over the top hot, and it even comes with tempura jalapenos! Also, that sweet chili sauce they serve with it compliments it just right!
Next up is the Korean Beef. This dish has a lot of flavors, and we keep coming back for it. Let’s start with all of the veggies and fruits in the one. The pineapple balances out any hint of heat that this dish offers. This dish’s Korean BBQ sauce is on point and wraps the flavor together! The sweet and tangy balance is always perfect for us.
The Chicken Tikka Masala offers a great option for people that enjoy Indian food but mellow on the curry taste. This dish has a solid flavor to it and when you dip those naans into it you will want more!
This dish is a sleeper dish we really enjoy anytime we have had it. The Lo Mein Noodles are very good with the mix of the veggies and the shrimp it all works well together. It is worth it to note you can get this dish in several different variations from veggie to chicken or the shrimp shown above.
Final Thoughts and Conclusions on Yak & Yeti
In conclusion, Yak & Yeti remains a culinary gem in the heart of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Whether it’s the vibrant atmosphere, the attentive service, or the sumptuous array of Asian-inspired dishes, this restaurant consistently delivers an experience that beckons for repeat visits. If you’re looking for an enchanting escape with flavors that transport you to distant lands, make sure to add Yak & Yeti to your must-dine list for a memorable day or evening at DAK. Even if you can’t score a advanced dining reservation head over there early in your DAK day and ask if they can accommodate you. Usually they can. Have you eaten here? What are your thoughts?
