PHOTOS: Indiana Jones Den of Destiny Pop-Up Bar

The Den of Destiny

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is due to hit theaters on June 30th, and as you would expect, Disney is starting the hype train for it. Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney opened a pop-up bar for the new movie with the oh-so-clever name “Den of Destiny” (eye roll).

The Dial of Destiny

While we are undoubtedly hyped for the new movie The Dial of Destiny, the Den of Destiny bar leaves much to be desired. Whenever I see attempts at marketing something as popular as Indiana Jones with a micro-budget, I shake my head. I would argue this franchise is such an afterthought here in Florida, it is a bit embarrassing that all we have to show for Indiana Jones is the stunt show, which you should not miss. It is fantastic, but I digress. Let’s get on with the Den of Destiny!

Dr. Jones Artifacts

The Den of Destiny is tucked away in the most forgotten corner of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. In fact, if you weren’t exiting the Indiana Jones Stunt Show, you wouldn’t even happen upon it. I get it they want you to wander in after you just watched the show, but Indiana Jones deserves to be celebrated a lot more than the Den of Destiny!

The Standing Area for the Den of Destiny

Upon entering, the light theming is lovely, with some artifacts and picture spots that capture the world of famous archaeologist Indiana Jones. As you can see below, there is a mix of old and new items for you to look at, take pictures of, etc.

Of course, this is a bar, so let’s check out that lackluster menu, shall we? Sorry if I sound so cynical, but there isn’t much here, just five drinks and no snacks. While the theming is excellent, I would have liked some snacks or something to grab and chill in an Indiana Jones-themed area.

In conclusion, seeing more Indiana Jones here in Walt Disney World is nice, but we want more! Disneyland and even Tokyo Disney Sea in Japan pay excellent tributes to Dr. Jones, and it would be nice to compliment the stunt show with an attraction or two.

If you are visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios soon, we suggest wandering over to the Den of Destiny to check out the artifacts, but save your money on the drinks and eat somewhere better like Sci-Fi Dine-In. What is your thought? Will you step into the Den of Destiny?
