Today’s article revolves around TRON Lightcycle /Run, but more specifically, a couple of announcements made by Disney surrounding new merchandise and food to go with their new attraction.
What is TRON Lightcycle /Run, you ask? Well, it is the newest attraction coming to Magic Kingdom and a clone of the same attraction in Shanghai Disneyland, TRON Lightcycle Power Run. Climb aboard your very own light cycle and enter the grid. Race against other programs on the grid and finish with a race above Tomorrowland. TRON Lightcycle /Run Merchandise
Disney shared a sneak peek of some of the merchandise coming to Magic Kingdom when TRON opens. At first glance, nothing really stood out to us as exciting. They did a good enough job bringing the feel of TRON through the merchandise. We must call out at a huge missed opportunity of not making Mickey Ears. Below we’d like to share the photos and provide our commentary on them.
As you can see there is just your run of the mill items being released for TRON. We would loved to see Mickey Ears, and Magic Bands to name a couple of things. That TRON arcade style backpack is my favorite if I had to choose! There is a customizable figure experience they are advertising. More on that from Disney themselves below.

It offers guests a customizable “Program” action figure and identity chip that can be used to “re-program” other merchandise such as the interactive Identity Discs and Remote Control Lightcycles.

TRON Lightcycle /Run Food
Now let’s dig into the part of Disney’s update that excites us, the food! Disney shared a lot of photos about their upcoming food stand that is in the TRON Lightcycle /Run courtyard area in the form of a kiosk and named, “Energy Bytes”
These are looking promising and we can’t wait to try all of them. The donut bites are a must try for us, but the dumplings, assuming they are good will be at the top of our list for many visits! Check out these delicious looking options!
Final Thoughts on TRON Lightcycle /Run
As we inch closer to the opening of TRON Lightcycle /Run, we couldn’t be more excited to be able to ride this attraction. While it is a very short experience, it is a lot of fun!
