Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is a trackless dark ride attraction, from Disney’s website. “Feel like you’ve shrunk down to Chef Remy’s size for a 4D culinary adventure based on the Disney and Pixar film Ratatouille. When you’re small, life is a big adventure!

In this 4D ride experience, join Chef Remy on a daring culinary caper that will captivate all your senses as you zip, dash and scurry through the bustling kitchen, dining room and walls of Gusteau’s famous Paris restaurant. C’est magnifique!”

Genie+ Which includes Lightning Lane

As discussed in our post, How to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, we explored Individual Lightning Lane. We will go over the basics again here.

In order to utilize Lightning Lane, you need a cell phone with the “My Disney Experience” app, and also, purchase Genie+. To purchase Genie+ is to do it daily starting at midnight, and before 7am EST on the day of your visit to the parks. Very important that you purchase this before 7am or you will miss out on attractions that are fully booked at 7am.

To complicate things more, certain rides aren’t even included in the purchase of Genie+. You actually have five attractions, that you have to purchase separately. These are called “Individual Lightning Lane”, or Lightning Lane a la carte. These attractions are currently: Please note Disney opted to leave Seven Dwarfs Mine Train as a ILL making this the first park with two of those.

  • Magic Kingdom: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train & TRON Lightcycle /Run
  • EPCOT: Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Avatar Flight of Passage

Each Individual Lightning Lane can be purchased at 7am by guests staying on property for any of the attractions above. Guests not staying on property can purchase them at each park’s respective opening times, however be warned, most of the attractions above are gone within the first couple minutes or even seconds in the case of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and we are sure TRON will even be faster for a while.

Also, one more point of contention, if you are managing Lightning Lane and also Individual Lightning Lane, you have a choice to make at 7am on which one to concentrate on. Meaning if your day starts at EPCOT and you wanted to grab Frozen Ever After, or Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Guardians at the same time you will want to prioritize grabbing the Individual Lightning Lane for Guardians first. After that is secured, you can go back in for another Lightning Lane reservation for EPCOT.

Strategies for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

Place Packs on the Floor!

There are the same two options of, standby, and Genie+, however the wildcard here now is how Guardians of the Galaxy will effect the crowd tendencies at EPCOT, watch here for how that pans out.

If you go for option 1 the Standy by line, you will want to go early in the morning or later in the evening. These two time slots are usually under 40 minutes of a wait. Midday waits for Remy’s can definitely get very long, and we would strongly encourage you to avoid that time of day.

At opening or rope drop as many refer to it, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure can have a very minimal wait. One item to note, Remy’s is in France which is in the very back of EPCOT’s world showcase. A disadvantage of the rope drop strategy is the resorts in the area, Disney’s Boardwalk, Swan & Dolphin, and Disney’s Beach Club, as well as the Skyliner all drop off at EPCOT’s second entrance. This so happens to be right next to Remy’s. This puts you at a disadvantage to all of those guests if you are coming in from the front of the park.

We opt to choose the end of the day to experience Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. The disadvantage to this is if you want to watch Harmonious, EPCOT’s 50th celebration nighttime spectacular, you will need to plan accordingly.

Evening Standby Wait time 5 minutes Before Park Close

If you go for option 2 for Remy’s which is of course the Genie + now, you will need to purchase before 7am on the day of your visit, which allows you to pick your experiences. Since Remy’s is part of Genie+ you get to prioritize it against Frozen, and Test Track. Our order of how we would reserve is, Frozen, Test Track, and wait for Remy’s late in the evening.

Conclusion on Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

A couple of thoughts on Remy’s. This attraction for us could be a lot better. While it is fun, it misses a couple marks for us. Also, the fact that it is a clone of the same attraction in Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris doesn’t help.

Ride Vehicle for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

If you have never experienced Remy’s, we do suggest you give it a try if you are spending an entire day at EPCOT, you can easily get this one in.

If you have only 1 day in EPCOT on your trip, we suggest you go early and go for the attractions in the front of the park where the lines will be very short. Another attraction that is very popular is Frozen Ever After, which we prefer over Remy’s.

Going to Frozen Ever After first in the morning, and then backtracking to the front of the park will get you on a lot of attractions early. This leaves you the afternoon or early evening to wait for Remy’s. Remember we suggest the evening for waiting in the standby line for Remy’s or even Frozen depending on your preference, and time you enter the park.

Keep in mind as Guardians of the Galaxy opens, it will throw a wrench into EPCOT. We will try to help you through this, so watch here! How will you plan your day at EPCOT? Does Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure sound fun? Let us know in the comments!
