Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure was the newest and most popular attraction at EPCOT until Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opened, While this attraction is almost two years old it remains very popular with guests commanding 60 minute plus wait on occasion. Our guide will help you save time so that you can get on this popular attraction (Updated 7/18/24)
This post will explore how to experience Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. All of this could change next month when Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opens. As we thought, this did changed, and right before Guardians opened! Keep an eye out on our site for that coverage, and updated strategies.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is a trackless dark ride attraction, from Disney’s website. “Feel like you’ve shrunk down to Chef Remy’s size for a 4D culinary adventure based on the Disney and Pixar film Ratatouille. When you’re small, life is a big adventure!
In this 4D ride experience, join Chef Remy on a daring culinary caper that will captivate all your senses as you zip, dash and scurry through the bustling kitchen, dining room and walls of Gusteau’s famous Paris restaurant. C’est magnifique!”
Lightning Lane Multi Pass & Lightning Lane Single Pass
In order to utilize Lightning Lane, you need a cell phone with the “My Disney Experience” app, and also, purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass. To purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass you can purchase this 7 days before you arrive if you are staying at a Disney Resort, or 3 days for all other guests. You can purchase this at 7am EST on your first day of eligibility.
To complicate things more, certain rides aren’t even included in the purchase of Lightning Lane Multi Pass. You actually have five attractions, that you have to purchase separately. These are called “Lightning Lane Single Pass”, or Lightning Lane a la carte. These attractions are currently: Please note Disney opted to leave Seven Dwarfs Mine Train as a ILL making this the first park with Lightning Lane Singe Passes.
- Magic Kingdom: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train & TRON Lightcycle /Run
- EPCOT: Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Avatar Flight of Passage
Each Lightning Lane Single Pass can be purchased 7 days by guests staying on property for any of the attractions above. Guests not staying on property can purchase them 3 days in advanced, however be warned of the attractions above are gone within the first couple minutes or even seconds in the case of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and we are sure TRON will even be faster for a while. So be ready for your timing based on your travel plans.
Also, one more point of contention, if you are managing Lightning Lane Multi Pass and also Lightning Lane Single Pass, you have a choice to make during your scheduling. The positive change for this new system is that you aren’t trying to do this all at 7am while also trying for a virtual queue. For Seven Dwarfs you can read our strategy here, but we would not purchase Lightning Lane Single Pass for that attraction.
Strategies for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
There are the same two options of, standby, and Genie+, however the wildcard here now is how Guardians of the Galaxy will effect the crowd tendencies at EPCOT, watch here for how that pans out.
If you go for option 1 the Standy by line, you will want to go early in the morning or later in the evening. These two time slots are usually under 40 minutes of a wait. Midday waits for Remy’s can definitely get very long, and we would strongly encourage you to avoid that time of day.
At opening or rope drop as many refer to it, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure can have a very minimal wait. One item to note, Remy’s is in France which is in the very back of EPCOT’s world showcase. A disadvantage of the rope drop strategy is the resorts in the area, Disney’s Boardwalk, Swan & Dolphin, and Disney’s Beach Club, as well as the Skyliner all drop off at EPCOT’s second entrance. This so happens to be right next to Remy’s. This puts you at a disadvantage to all of those guests if you are coming in from the front of the park.
If you go for option 2 for Remy’s which is of course the Genie + now, you will need to purchase before 7am on the day of your visit, which allows you to pick your experiences. Since Remy’s is part of Genie+ you get to prioritize it against Frozen, and Test Track. Our order of how we would reserve is, Frozen, Test Track, and wait for Remy’s late in the evening.
Conclusion on Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
A couple of thoughts on Remy’s. This attraction for us could be a lot better. While it is fun, it misses a couple marks for us. Also, the fact that it is a clone of the same attraction in Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris doesn’t help.
If you have never experienced Remy’s, we do suggest you give it a try if you are spending an entire day at EPCOT, you can easily get this one in.
If you have only 1 day in EPCOT on your trip, we suggest you go early and go for the attractions in the front of the park where the lines will be very short. Another attraction that is very popular is Frozen Ever After, which we prefer over Remy’s.
Going to Frozen Ever After first in the morning, and then backtracking to the front of the park will get you on a lot of attractions early. This leaves you the afternoon or early evening to wait for Remy’s. Remember we suggest the evening for waiting in the standby line for Remy’s or even Frozen depending on your preference, and time you enter the park.
