For our second post on the blog, we are establishing our restaurants section by visiting STK in Disney Springs. Those of you who are connected to us on Facebook (FB) know we take pictures of our food… a lot of pictures of our food… yes, a lot of them. We have always wanted to give a little more context to the places we have eaten at but not on our FB wall. As we build out more restaurant thoughts you will be able to find them in our Restaurants page and categorized by locations.
Without further ado, here are my thoughts on STK in Disney Springs for brunch. STK is a modern take on a steakhouse. For years we have wanted to try it out, but the prices are not for the faint of heart. Having passed it in several of their locations, they finally found a way to lure us into this place. Spoiler alert it is a cheaper option on the menu.
On their FB page they advertised a brunch special and one of those items is a $9.99 burger and fries option. That was enough to sell us on trying the place out. We booked a reservation for 2:30 and headed over to Disney Springs. A busy day which is no surprise for a Saturday but since we had a reservation in hand already there wouldn’t be an issue for us to secure food. We always suggest grabbing an advanced dining reservation (ADR) before heading to Disney Springs when you can.
The restaurant wasn’t too busy even for a Saturday afternoon but to us that is no surprise given the prices of many things on the menu. The $9.99 looks like such an imposter against the rest of the menu so I was a little suspect of how it might taste. For instance, their cheapest appetizer is a salad priced at $23.00. Regardless of that very short hesitation of “why is this so cheap” we proceeded to each order the burger, medium rare.
The Burger
The burger is named “Wagyu Burger BFKT”. Made up with 7oz beef patty with Amhttps://stksteakhouse.com/venues/orlando/erican cheese, bacon, fried egg, lettuce tomato, onions. It also comes with fries and their special truffle sauce. When the burger arrived, it was a lot bigger than you would think a $9.99 burger at a place like this would look like. The taste was amazing. The beef was juicy, and the bacon was very thick and tasty as well. None of the ingredients overpowered each other.
The fries were decent as well and even more so with their truffle sauce. We took down the burger with no problem and have to say that this is worth the price of admission. At $9.99 we challenge you to find a better deal in Disney Springs for the price. Even Earl of Sandwich which we will talk about another time comes in more expensive than this brunch offering from STK. Well now that you are hungry go find your local burger and enjoy!
Conclusion
STK at this point is worth the brunch $9.99 price if you are looking for a good burger. We will see if we venture back for the more priced options. Brunch is served during the weekends and between the hours of 9:30 am to 3:00 pm. If you don’t show up within those hours, your meal will become a lot more expensive. Have you eaten at any STK locations? What are your thoughts on them?
Another well written review!
